Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Training – 2026
KVG Medical College and Hospital
Introduction
A One-Day Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Training Program was conducted by Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services and KVG Group of Institutions on 7th January 2026 at the Lecture hall-1, KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia.
The primary objectives of the program were:
- To enhance staff awareness on fire safety and emergency response.
- To ensure legal compliance with fire safety regulations.
- To provide practical exposure to both teaching and non-teaching staff from across the group institutions.
Formal Function
The event commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome speech and the lamp lighting ceremony. The inaugural session included addresses by distinguished dignitaries and concluded with a vote of thanks.

- Explained NOC requirements for building compliance.
- Conducted an incident briefing supported with videos for better understanding.
Trainer‑2
- Explained types of fire extinguishers and demonstrated how to use them.
- Covered classification of fire and appropriate control measures.
- Shared details on types of fire vehicles and their capacities.
- Highlighted major fire incidents in hospital settings and lessons learned.
- Provided information on LPG gas safety and methods to reduce related incidents.
- Shared awareness on poisonous and flammable gases, including preventive measures.
Practical Demonstrations
The training included live demonstrations to provide hands-on experience:
- Hospital Fire Extinguisher Demonstration: Conducted in front of the casualty block, showcasing the correct usage of extinguishers.
- Hydrant Demonstration: Executed with the coordination of the KVG MCH Fire Safety Team and Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services, highlighting hydrant operation and emergency response techniques.
Conclusion
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and the active participation of staff. The training successfully combined formal proceedings with practical demonstrations, ensuring that staff gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in fire prevention and firefighting.
This initiative reflects the commitment of KVG Group of Institutions towards safety, compliance, and preparedness, reinforcing the importance of continuous training for institutional resilience.
NOTE: 100 Staff Participated in the training.
