The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm at KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia, on 26th January 2026. The event reflected the institution’s commitment to national values and constitutional principles.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. K. V. Chidananda, President of AOLE and Medical Director of KVGMCH, in the august presence of Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean of KVGMCH. The ceremony was attended by the Principals of all sister institutions, Heads of Departments, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students, who assembled in the college premises to mark the occasion with pride and respect.
Following the flag hoisting, Dr. K. V. Chidananda delivered the Republic Day address, highlighting the historical significance of 26th January 1950, the day on which the Constitution of India came into force. He emphasized the core values enshrined in the Constitution justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity and encouraged students and faculty to uphold these ideals in their professional and personal lives. He also spoke about the role of medical professionals in nation-building through ethical practice, service to society, and commitment to public health.
Subsequently, Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan , Dean of KVGMCH, addressed the gathering. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of constitutional responsibility, discipline, and unity in diversity. She motivated students to contribute meaningfully to society by combining academic excellence with compassion and integrity, reinforcing the role of medical institutions in strengthening the nation.
The celebration concluded with a cultural programme, where students showcased vibrant patriotic songs and dance performances, adding color and enthusiasm to the event. The performances reflected national pride and cultural unity, and were warmly appreciated by the audience.
The Republic Day celebration at KVG Medical College & Hospital was a memorable occasion that reinforced patriotic spirit and inspired all present to honor and uphold the values of the Indian Constitution.
