Graduation Ceremony 2026 – Batch of Xanthrons

The Graduation Ceremony 2026 of K.V.G. Medical College & Hospital was conducted with great dignity and enthusiasm on 23rd May 2026 at the college auditorium. The event marked a memorable milestone in the lives of the graduating students of the Batch of Xanthrons and coincided with the institution’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, commemorating 25 years of excellence in medical education, healthcare, research, and service to society.

The programme began with a ceremonial procession followed by an invocation rendered by Mr. Rakshith, MBBS Phase I student.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean, KVG Medical College and Hospital, Sullia, who formally inaugurated the ceremony and welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, parents, and graduates. The dignitaries were formally welcomed by faculty members of various departments.

The traditional lighting of the lamp was performed by the dignitaries, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge and wisdom.

One of the most solemn moments of the ceremony was the administration of the Hippocratic Oath by Dr. Geeta Doppa. Professor and HOD , Department of OBG. The graduates pledged themselves to the ethical and compassionate practice of medicine.

An important highlight of the programme was the release of KVG Med News, the quarterly journal of the institution, by the Chief Guest Dr. K. S. Gangadhara Somayaji. The journal showcased the academic, clinical, cultural, and extracurricular achievements of the institution.

The Chief Guest was formally introduced by Dr. Navya B N, Professor of Pathology  after which the Convocation Address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Dr. K. S. Gangadhara Somayaji, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), The address inspired the graduates to uphold professionalism, compassion, humility, and lifelong learning in their medical careers.

A total of 105 undergraduate graduates of the Batch of Xanthrons received their graduation certificates during the ceremony. The certificates were distributed by the Chief Guest Dr. K. S. Gangadhara Somayaji and Dr. K. V. Chidananda.

The RGUHS rank holders were felicitated for their outstanding academic performance. The names of the rank holders were announced by Dr. Gopinath Pai Prof and HOD , Department of Surgery in the presence of proud parents, faculty members, and dignitaries.

  1. Kevin Koshy Joseph – 3rd Rank, MD Emergency Medicine
  2. Faraz Ahmad – 6th Rank, MD Emergency Medicine
  3. Sandra Maria John – 9th Rank, MS Oto Rhino Laryngology

The undergraduate rank holder felicitated was:

  1. Agna Paul – 10th Rank in Ophthalmology (III MBBS Part I)

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. K. V. Chidananda, President, Academy of Liberal Education and Medical Director, KVGMCH. Sir emphasized the values of service, humility, discipline, and dedication expected from young medical professionals.

The Chief Guest was felicitated as a token of appreciation and gratitude for gracing the occasion and inspiring the graduates with his valuable words.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Namrata K G,Professor of microbiology who expressed gratitude to the management, dignitaries, faculty members, students, parents, organizing committee, and all those who contributed to the success of the programme.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem followed by lunch. The Graduation Ceremony 2026 was a proud and memorable occasion celebrating the transformation of students into compassionate and competent doctors ready to serve society.

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan is a alumna of Thanjavur Medical College, where she obtained her medical degree. She further pursued her MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and an MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.

Throughout her academic medical career, Dr. Natarajan has served in various capacities at several prominent institutions, including Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Government KAP Vishwanathan Medical College in Trichy, and Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram. With over 20 years of administrative experience, she has held the position of Dean in multiple medical colleges for more than a decade. Her expertise in faculty training within medical education has earned her widespread recognition.

In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Natarajan has served as an assessor on the Medical Council of India (MCI) panel for over 15 years. She was also an Ex-Senate member of the MGR University and Secretary of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Natarajan has completed an Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Dean at KVG Medical College and Hospital in Sullia.
