KVG Medical College and Hospital, Kurunjibagh, Sullia conducted the Interns Orientation Programme 2026 on 24th June 2026 at 10:30 AM in Dr. KVC Hall–2 to welcome and orient the newly joined MBBS interns as they embarked on their internship training.
The programme commenced with an Invocation by Dr. Vignesh, Postgraduate, Department of Respiratory Medicine, seeking divine blessings for a successful and meaningful internship year.
The gathering was formally welcomed by Dr. Preethiraj Ballal, Associate Professor, Department of Respiratory Medicine and Interns Co-ordinator, who congratulated the new interns and provided an overview of the internship programme, highlighting its objectives, responsibilities, and the importance of professionalism during clinical training.
The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean, KVG Medical College and Hospital, who encouraged the interns to uphold the highest standards of ethics, compassion, discipline, and patient-centred care throughout their internship.
The orientation continued with informative sessions by various faculty members. The Heads of Clinical Departments briefed the interns regarding departmental rules, expectations, and clinical responsibilities. Faculty from the Departments of Microbiology, Pathology, and Biochemistry oriented the interns on laboratory protocols and specimen handling.
An orientation on the AYUSH posting was delivered by Dr. Sanath Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Panchakarma, KVG Ayurveda Medical College, providing an overview of the objectives and structure of the posting.
Dr. Navya B. N., Chief Warden and Professor of Pathology, explained the hostel rules and regulations to ensure a safe, disciplined, and comfortable residential environment for the interns.
The interns also received guidance on systematic case sheet documentation from Dr. Bharath Shetty, Professor of Forensic Medicine, while Dr. Sathish Aithal, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, delivered an informative session on rational and safe prescription writing.
The programme concluded with the Presidential Address by Dr. K. V. Chidananda, President, AOLE® Sullia and Medical Director, KVG Medical College and Hospital, who motivated the interns to embrace lifelong learning, compassion, integrity, and excellence in patient care as they entered the next phase of their medical careers.
The programme provided the interns with a comprehensive understanding of institutional policies, clinical responsibilities, documentation practices, and professional expectations, thereby preparing them for a rewarding and successful internship year.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
