KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia
The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm at KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia, on 15th August 2025. The event commenced with the flag hoisting by Dr. K.V. Chidananda Sir, President of AOLE and Medical Director of KVGMCH, in the presence of Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan Ma’am, Dean of KVGMCH. Principals of all sister institutions, Heads of Departments, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students gathered in the college premises to mark the occasion.
Following the flag hoisting, the gathering observed the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign pledge, administered by NSS volunteers, reaffirming their commitment to the nation. As part of this initiative, national flags were distributed to staff, students, and also to nearby households to encourage active participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, symbolizing unity and patriotism.
In his address, Dr. K.V. Chidananda Sir spoke about the significance of Independence Day, the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters, and the role of youth in nation-building. Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan Ma’am also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of unity, discipline, and dedication in contributing to the country’s progress.
As part of the celebrations, various competitions were organized, including speech, drawing, and poster-making competitions on patriotic themes. Prizes were distributed to the winners, recognizing their talent and creativity.
The cultural program that followed showcased vibrant songs and dance performances by students, adding a festive spirit to the day. The celebration concluded with a patriotic rally organized by the institution, spreading the message of freedom, responsibility, and national pride among the community.
