Introduction
The Department of Radio-Diagnosis, KVG Medical College & Hospital celebrated the International Day of Radiology (IDoR) 2025 with great enthusiasm. The event highlighted the global significance of radiology in modern healthcare and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of radiologists and radiographers in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.

Program Schedule
The event began with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome address to all dignitaries, faculty, and students. The dignitaries then lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the formal start of the program. An introduction to radiology was given by Dr. Nitin Bhat, Radiologist, KVGMCH, Sullia, followed by an inaugural address by Dr. C. Ramachandra Bhat, Medical Superintendent, KVGMC&H, Sullia. A floral tribute was offered to Sir Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, the Father of Radiology, in honour of his groundbreaking discovery of X-rays. Appreciating the vision behind every image, the event honoured all radiologists, radiographers, radiology postgraduates, faculty members, and B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology interns for their invaluable contributions to the field of medical imaging. A short video presentation on MRI safety was done by faculty and B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology interns. The program featured an enlightening talk on ‘Helium-Free MRI’ delivered by Ms. P. C. Archana, Lecturer-cum-Radiographer, KVG Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Sullia. An E-poster on ‘3T MRI’ was presented by B.Sc. MIT internship students Fathima Hiba and Liyana Sanam, highlighting the advancements in modern imaging technology and a skit by Paramedical and B.Sc MIT internship students that creatively depicted the role of radiologists in patient care. The program concluded with the a very informative and inspiring presidential address was delivered by Dr. K. V. Chidananda, President of AOLE®, Sullia and Medical Director of KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia, emphasizing the significance of continuous learning and innovation in the field of Radiology. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and an engaging quiz competition that encouraged enthusiastic student participation.
Conclusion
The International Day of Radiology 2025 celebration at KVG Medical College & Hospital was highly informative, inspiring, and impactful. The event successfully promoted radiology awareness, highlighted technological advancements, and recognized the contributions of professionals in the field. The enthusiastic participation of students and faculty made the event a grand success, fostering a deeper appreciation for the science of medical imaging.
