World Health Day 2026

The World Health Day 2026 program was successfully conducted on 7th April 2026 at Lecture Hall 1 of the institution between 3 – 4:30pm. The event was organized to commemorate World Health Day and to align with this year’s global theme, “Together for Health. Stand with Science.”

The program was presided over by Dr. K V Chidananda , President AOLE and the gathering was addressed by the Dean Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan , who emphasized the importance of evidence-based practice and the role of science in strengthening healthcare systems.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 250 students of KVGMCH as well as sister institutes. The session focused on highlighting the critical role of scientific collaboration in improving global health outcomes. Special emphasis was laid on the One Health approach, underlining the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.

In addition, the importance of vaccination as a cornerstone of public health was discussed, reinforcing its role in disease prevention and community protection.

The event also included the distribution of certificates to the winners of the nationwide World Health Day Quiz, recognizing their knowledge and encouraging academic excellence.

Overall, the program was informative, engaging, and successful in creating awareness among students about contemporary global health priorities and the importance of standing with science.

Dean

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan is a alumna of Thanjavur Medical College, where she obtained her medical degree. She further pursued her MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and an MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.

Throughout her academic medical career, Dr. Natarajan has served in various capacities at several prominent institutions, including Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Government KAP Vishwanathan Medical College in Trichy, and Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram. With over 20 years of administrative experience, she has held the position of Dean in multiple medical colleges for more than a decade. Her expertise in faculty training within medical education has earned her widespread recognition.

In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Natarajan has served as an assessor on the Medical Council of India (MCI) panel for over 15 years. She was also an Ex-Senate member of the MGR University and Secretary of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Natarajan has completed an Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Dean at KVG Medical College and Hospital in Sullia.
