NTEP Core Committee Quarterly Review Meeting for Q4 October to December- 2025

Agenda:

To review the implementation status of NTEP Program for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025: October to December.

Proceedings of the meeting:

NTEP Coordinator, Dr Anirudha K welcomed the DTO Dr Khathija Dilshad, and all the participants. He presented a short PPT about the statistics and status of the NTEP Activities during the period.

The Following points were discussed:

  1. The improved TB notification rates in our center were appreciated by the DTO.
  2. The Non-availability of the 2TU Tuberculin antigen for pediatric testing was discussed.
  3. The upcoming Program of ‘TB Mukth Panchayat’ and its implementation around Sullia was discussed, along with inputs from NTEP Nodal Officer (Public Health). DTO gave information on the future training programs schedule for the Faculty & Medical Officers and also about the anticipated schedule for field visits under the program.
  4. The members appreciated the recent Original Research (OR) article published in the Peer Reviewed Indexed International Journal.
  5. DTO informed the members about the upcoming Phase 2 of ‘100 days campaign’ for intensifying case finding in the villages.
  6. Discussed regarding applying for grants for Research activities from NTEP
  7. DTO suggested to continue the process of prioritizing the samples by labelling separately for NAAT Testing for highly suspicious cases.
  8. DTO reaffirmed the need to send samples of all suspected EPTB for NAAT testing.

Dean

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan is a alumna of Thanjavur Medical College, where she obtained her medical degree. She further pursued her MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and an MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.

Throughout her academic medical career, Dr. Natarajan has served in various capacities at several prominent institutions, including Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Government KAP Vishwanathan Medical College in Trichy, and Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram. With over 20 years of administrative experience, she has held the position of Dean in multiple medical colleges for more than a decade. Her expertise in faculty training within medical education has earned her widespread recognition.

In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Natarajan has served as an assessor on the Medical Council of India (MCI) panel for over 15 years. She was also an Ex-Senate member of the MGR University and Secretary of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Natarajan has completed an Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Dean at KVG Medical College and Hospital in Sullia.
