Air-Conditioned Central Library

Situated within the premises of KVGMC&H, an impressively expansive central library stretches across an area exceeding 1600 square meters. This spacious setting is air-conditioned, thereby ensuring an optimum study environment and can comfortably accommodate as many as 400 readers simultaneously, offering ample room for each individual’s intellectual exploration.

The design of the library takes into consideration the varying needs of different users. Provisions have been made for self-reading rooms, thereby catering to those who prefer solitude while studying. Additionally, distinct sections have been incorporated to cater to undergraduates, postgraduates, and faculty members, each meticulously designed to foster a conducive academic environment for the respective groups.

This repository of knowledge boasts a remarkable collection of books, periodicals, and bound volumes. The library’s collection, painstakingly gathered and regularly updated, is readily accessible to all members of the institution – students, residents, and staff. This is part of the institution’s dedication to providing its members with ample academic resources.

The library, moreover, is well-maintained. Regular efforts are made to enrich its collection, ensuring that it remains up-to-date with the latest research tools and technologies. This ongoing process ensures that all library users have full access to the current knowledge resources required for their academic and research pursuits.

Additionally, the library is an active member of the “HELINET” consortium. This membership allows the library to offer its users more than 712 indexed national and international journals, broadening the range of resources available to students and staff for research and academic purposes.

In terms of technology, the library is equally well equipped. It houses more than 40 computers, all offering internet accessibility. Facilities for scanning, printing, and photocopying are available, aiding students and staff in their academic and administrative needs. A special section has also been dedicated to CD and Video based journals, further augmenting the range of resources available to users.

Adding to the impressive statistics, the library possesses a collection of over 13594 books and 2265 back volumes. This is complemented by 156 reputed national and international printed journals, ensuring a comprehensive collection that meets the academic enrichment needs of its users.

Lastly, the institution has the privilege of being recognised as a digital evaluation centre under the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. This recognition only adds to the prestige of the library, elevating its stature as a valuable resource centre. Dean

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan is a alumna of Thanjavur Medical College, where she obtained her medical degree. She further pursued her MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and an MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.

Throughout her academic medical career, Dr. Natarajan has served in various capacities at several prominent institutions, including Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Government KAP Vishwanathan Medical College in Trichy, and Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram. With over 20 years of administrative experience, she has held the position of Dean in multiple medical colleges for more than a decade. Her expertise in faculty training within medical education has earned her widespread recognition.

In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Natarajan has served as an assessor on the Medical Council of India (MCI) panel for over 15 years. She was also an Ex-Senate member of the MGR University and Secretary of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Natarajan has completed an Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Dean at KVG Medical College and Hospital in Sullia.
