Postgraduate Orientation Programme 2025-26

The Postgraduate Orientation Programme for the academic year 2025–26 was conducted on 08/05/2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at KVC Hall 1, KVG Medical College and Hospital, in the presence of respected dignitaries, faculty members, and postgraduate students.

The programme commenced with an invocation prayer by Dr. Shama, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

The dignitaries on the dais included the President of AOLE, Dr. K. V. Chidananda Dean Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan and PG Coordinator and Head of the Department of Pathology, Dr. Satyavati.

Dr. Sowmya Iyer, President and Postgraduate Representative of the Student Council, welcomed the gathering and introduced the purpose of the Orientation Programme.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Satyavati . Newly joined postgraduate students then introduced themselves and briefly spoke about their respective departments.

The Dean addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of academic discipline, professionalism, clinical training, and research during postgraduate education. The Medical Superintendent and Heads of Departments also shared valuable guidance and expectations with the postgraduate students.

A session regarding hostel rules, discipline, and institutional regulations was conducted by the Chief Warden, Dr. Navya.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. K. V. Chidananda, who motivated the postgraduate students to strive for academic excellence and uphold the values and ethics of the institution.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Ajay, followed by the National Anthem.

Dean

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan is a alumna of Thanjavur Medical College, where she obtained her medical degree. She further pursued her MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and an MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.

Throughout her academic medical career, Dr. Natarajan has served in various capacities at several prominent institutions, including Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Government KAP Vishwanathan Medical College in Trichy, and Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram. With over 20 years of administrative experience, she has held the position of Dean in multiple medical colleges for more than a decade. Her expertise in faculty training within medical education has earned her widespread recognition.

In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Natarajan has served as an assessor on the Medical Council of India (MCI) panel for over 15 years. She was also an Ex-Senate member of the MGR University and Secretary of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Natarajan has completed an Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Dean at KVG Medical College and Hospital in Sullia.
