The workshop on research methodology “RADIANT – 2026” was organized by the Institutional Research Committee, KVGMC&H, Sullia, with the objective of enhancing knowledge and practical skills in including AI tools in research methodology, academic design, literature review, and thesis proposal development among participants.
The formal function and inaugural ceremony began at 9:15 AM by lighting the lamp. Dr. Shivarajashankara Y. M., Organizing Chairman and Institutional Research Committee Coordinator, KVGMC&H, Sullia, welcomed the dignitaries, resource person, faculty members, and delegates.The Chief Guest for the function Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean, KVGMC&H, Sullia, highlighted importanceof such workshops in designing the quality research proposal. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. K. V. Chidananda, President, AOLE, Sullia and Medical Director, KVGMC&H, Sullia.
The resource person for the workshop was Dr. R. Parthasarathi MD, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, KAPVGMC, Trichy, started the session with pre- test. Dr. Parthasarathi emphasized the importance of research in medical education and evidence-based healthcare. He conducted an engaging, practically oriented workshop covering the selection of appropriate research topics/problem, research gap identification, framing research questions, protocol development, literature review and in addition the use of AI tools in research.
He encouraged students and faculty members to actively participate in research activities and innovative thesis development.
The academic sessions were conducted as per the workshop schedule. The sessions included:
- Introduction to Research and Types of Study Designs
- Research Gap Identification
- Framing Research Questions and Research Hypothesis
- Drafting Research Objectives
- Components of a Research Protocol
- Literature Review using PubMed and Google Scholar
- Use of Artificial Intelligence for Literature Review and Research Protocol Development
The sessions were highly interactive and included demonstrations, practical exercises, and discussions. All the participants actively engaged in the group activities and clarified their research-related queries with the resource person.
Tea breaks and lunch were provided as scheduled. The workshop concluded at 4:30 PM with an interactive discussion and feedback session. Participants expressed appreciation for the informative and practical nature of the workshop.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the management, dignitaries, resource person, organizing committee, and participants for making the event successful.The Master of Ceremony for the program was Dr. Anirudh, Assistant professor, Respiratory medicine. The programme was concluded with National Anthem.
