KVG Medical College & Hospital celebrated National Doctors’ Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and reverence on 1st July 2026 to honour the invaluable contributions of doctors to society. The programme also commemorated the birth anniversary of the legendary physician and Bharat Ratna awardee, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.
The programme commenced with an invocation prayer rendered by Dr. Saigeetha, invoking the blessings of the Almighty for the successful conduct of the event.
The gathering was formally welcomed by Dr. PreethirajBallal, Associate Professor, Department of Respiratory Medicine, who extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members, doctors, students, and guests, emphasizing the significance of Doctors’ Day and the noble responsibilities of the medical profession.
The ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp was performed by the dignitaries, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge, wisdom, and service.
The Dean, Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, addressed the gathering and appreciated the dedication, compassion, and commitment demonstrated by healthcare professionals. She encouraged the medical fraternity to continue striving for excellence in patient care, academics, and research.
A commemorative talk on the life and legacy of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy was delivered by Dr. Anirudha, highlighting his remarkable contributions to medicine, education, and nation-building, while inspiring young doctors to uphold the highest ideals of the profession.
One of the major attractions of the celebration was the “Brain Battle – Quiz Challenge for Doctors,” which witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and doctors across various departments. The quiz fostered healthy academic competition and reinforced the importance of continuous learning in medical practice.
The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. V. S. Pare, Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy. His inspiring talk emphasized the values of professionalism, lifelong learning, ethical medical practice, and compassionate patient care. A token of appreciation was presented to the keynote speaker in recognition of his valuable contribution.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. K. V. Chidananda, President, AOLE. He congratulated all doctors on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day and acknowledged their unwavering service to humanity. He also appreciated the institution’s commitment to quality healthcare, medical education, and community service.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Rashmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, organizing committee, faculty, participants, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of a meaningful and memorable programme dedicated to recognizing the dedication, sacrifice, and invaluable service of doctors.
