The National Service Scheme (NSS) Day 2026 was celebrated at KVG Medical College and Hospital, Sullia, with the participation of NSS volunteers and students.
The programme featured Mrs Nayana P. U., Assistant Professor of Law and NSS Programme Officer, KVG Law College, Sullia, as the guest speaker. She addressed the students on the importance of NSS for medical and nursing students, highlighting the role of community service in developing social responsibility, empathy, leadership qualities, teamwork, and a commitment to serving society. She also emphasised that healthcare professionals have an important responsibility towards the health and well-being of the community, and NSS provides students with opportunities to understand community needs through active participation in various service activities.
The programme was coordinated by Ms Vidya K., NSS Programme Officer, KVG Medical College and Hospital, Sullia, and Mrs Jimsy John, NSS Programme Officer, KVG Nursing College and Hospital, Sullia. The celebration encouraged students to actively participate in community oriented activities and uphold the core values of NSS—“Not Me But You.”
