ONLINE WEBINAR-POLYENDOCRINE METABOLIC OVARIAN SYNDROME( PMOS) – 2026

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia, organised the Webinar Lecture Series – 2 as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations. The webinar was conducted on 9 th September 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The topic of the webinar was “Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) – Current and Future Perspectives.”

The session focused on the evolving concept of PCOS as a polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS).

The distinguished speaker was Dr Vaidyanathan Gowri, MRCOG, FROG, FRCP. Dr Gowri is an Associate Professor/Senior Consultant at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman.

The lecture highlighted the multifaceted endocrine, metabolic and reproductive manifestations of PCOS.

Current concepts in the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of PCOS were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on the metabolic implications and long-term health consequences of the syndrome.

The speaker also discussed emerging approaches and the future directions in PCOS management and research.

The webinar was attended by the faculty members, postgraduate students and staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The interactive academic session provided an excellent opportunity for participants to update their knowledge on this common yet complex disorder.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean, KVGMC&H.

Dr Geeta Doppa, Professor & HOD, and Dr Ravikanth, Professor, Department of OBG, coordinated and facilitated the programme.

The webinar was highly informative and academically enriching, contributing to continued professional development and strengthening the department’s commitment to contemporary evidence-based women’s healthcare.

HOD ‘s of various departments , faculty , post graduates and under graduates actively participated in the program and we also had participants and HOD’s from other medical colleges who participated in the program.

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan is a alumna of Thanjavur Medical College, where she obtained her medical degree. She further pursued her MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and an MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.

Throughout her academic medical career, Dr. Natarajan has served in various capacities at several prominent institutions, including Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Government KAP Vishwanathan Medical College in Trichy, and Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram. With over 20 years of administrative experience, she has held the position of Dean in multiple medical colleges for more than a decade. Her expertise in faculty training within medical education has earned her widespread recognition.

In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Natarajan has served as an assessor on the Medical Council of India (MCI) panel for over 15 years. She was also an Ex-Senate member of the MGR University and Secretary of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Natarajan has completed an Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Dean at KVG Medical College and Hospital in Sullia.
