Sport Day 2026 – ‘APARAJITA’

The Annual College Sports Meet, Aparajita, was held on 8 January, 2026 on the NMC Playground. The event was presided by Dr. K V Chidananda, President AOLE with Mrs Chandravathi K S, Principal, KVG Institute of Nursing. Also among the dignitaries were Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean, KVGMCH and Dr. Damodar D, Sports Coordinator.

The event began with the hosting of the college flag, which brought together all the students under the unified banner of KVG Medication College. Next came the march past, which was a show of synchronization and discipline. The blessings of the almighty were invoked by Ms. Rakshitha C T from the 2022 Batch. This was followed by welcoming the dignitaries on the dais, after which the prestigious sports torch was lit and received by the athletes who had represented the college in various tournaments.

The Oath was then administered to the gathered students by Mr. Ayush Varma, Joint Sports Secretary. This was followed by the address of the Chief Guest, Mrs Chandravathi K S, who detailed the importance of sports in the lives of students. Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean, KVGMCH, then addressed the gathering, stressing on the importance of the sportsmanship spirit and the core values of discipline in sports. The Presidential address was delivered by Dr. K V Chidananda, in which he highlighted that participation forms the backbone of any sports event, and that as healthcare professionals we should always use sports as a gateway to achieving better health.

Finally, the winners for the March past competition were declared. Samattva, the Batch of 2022, was awarded first place. The bearers of the sports torch and the marching band were also awarded. The formal function was concluded by the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Chandana D, Sports Secretary. The track and field events for staff and students then commenced, giving the talented athletes of the college a chance to display their talents. The sports events finally came to a close with the Valedictory ceremony.

Super 6 and Super 8

 Mixed Volleyball and Cricket matches under floodlights were organized in the NMC Playground on 16th and 17th January, 2026. Over these two days, several thrilling matches were played, while stalls for food, ice cream, chats, jail and juke box were also set up on the ground. The matches came to a thrilling conclusion with Team Elite Eight winning the championship for Super 8 and Team Cyclones winning the championship for Super 6.

 

Dean

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan

Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan is a alumna of Thanjavur Medical College, where she obtained her medical degree. She further pursued her MD in Physiology from Madras Medical College and an MBA in Hospital Administration from Alagappa University.

Throughout her academic medical career, Dr. Natarajan has served in various capacities at several prominent institutions, including Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Government Medical College Coimbatore, Government KAP Vishwanathan Medical College in Trichy, and Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram. With over 20 years of administrative experience, she has held the position of Dean in multiple medical colleges for more than a decade. Her expertise in faculty training within medical education has earned her widespread recognition.

In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Natarajan has served as an assessor on the Medical Council of India (MCI) panel for over 15 years. She was also an Ex-Senate member of the MGR University and Secretary of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Natarajan has completed an Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Dean at KVG Medical College and Hospital in Sullia.
