Date: 23 January 2026
Venue: HT Power House
The HT Power House proudly inaugurated a 990 kW Solar Rooftop Power Plant on 23rd January 2026, marking a major milestone in renewable energy adoption. This installation stands as Dakshina Kannada’s largest rooftop solar power plant and the Mangaluru Division’s first solar project utilizing a non-penetration mounting system.
The plant is installed using advanced non-penetration mounting technology, where the entire structure is securely fixed using high-strength industrial adhesive, ensuring zero drilling and no roof penetration, thereby preserving the structural integrity of the rooftop.
The system is equipped with German-made LUXRA SOLARKAUF glass-to-glass solar panels, each rated at 600 Wp, known for their high efficiency, durability, and long operational life.
The solar rooftop plant generates approximately 120,000 units of clean energy per month and contributes to a significant CO₂ reduction of about 1,200–1,500 metric tons per year, reinforcing the institution’s strong commitment to sustainability and green energy initiatives.
