The programme was aimed at strengthening the institution’s mentor–mentee system by enhancing faculty understanding of effective mentorship and introducing newly admitted students to the importance of mentoring in their academic and personal development. The programme was graced by Dr. Neelambikai Natarajan, Dean, KVG Medical College & Hospital, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized that a robust mentor–mentee programme plays a vital role in supporting students as they transition into medical education. In the afternoon session, attended by approximately 150 first-year MBBS students, Dr. Rastogi addressed the topic “Why Do You Need a Mentor?” He explained the significance of mentorship in helping students adapt to the demanding medical curriculum, manage stress, develop professional values, and seek timely guidance throughout their medical education. The interactive session encouraged students to actively engage with their mentors and make the best use of the mentoring system available at the institution.
